Walker Evans



Evans, Walker (1903–75), U.S. photographer best known for documenting the effects of the Depression in the southern United States. His photographs were an important part of Let Us Now Praise Famous Men (1941), written by James Agee. His work also appeared in Fortune magazine, of which he was an editor.
