Sir George Etherege



Etherege, Sir George (c. 1634–91), English dramatist, writer of restoration comedy, who influenced both William Congreve and William Wycherley. His three plays are The Comical Revenge (1664), She Wou'd If She Cou'd (1668), and The Man of Mode (1676).
