Phil Esposito



Esposito, Phil (1942– ), Canadian hockey player. He is fourth on the all time regular season scoring list (1,590 points) and is among the top goal scorers in National Hockey League (NHL) history (with 717 goals). Esposito led the league in scoring for five seasons (1969, 1971–74) and won the Hart Memorial Trophy as most valuable player in 1969. Esposito played center for the Chicago Black Hawks (1963–67) and the Boston Bruins (1967–75), where he led the Bruins to 2 Stanley Cup championships (1970, 72). He finished his career with the New York Rangers (1975–81) and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1984.
