Adolf Eichmann



Eichmann, Adolf (1906–62), German lieutenant–colonel in the Nazi Gestapo, head of the Jewish Division from 1939. He was responsible for the deportation, maltreatment, and murder of European Jews in World War II. He escaped to Argentina but was abducted, tried, and executed in Israel.
