Bob Dylan

Dylan, Bob (Robert Allen Zimmerman; 1941– ), U.S. folksinger and composer. His distinctive blues style and lyrics were influenced by Woody Guthrie. His songs, at times sharply protesting social injustice, at times densely surreal and elusive, had a strong influence on popular music in the 1960s. He later turned to country and ballad music.
