Duma



Duma, name for several elected assemblies is tsarist Russia in 1906. The first 2 dumas (1906 and 1907), instituted by Nicholas II, were radical and were swiftly dissolved by Nicholas. The third and fourth (1907–12 and 1912–17), though restricted, introduced some reforms. Revolution in 1917 did away with the institution.
