Drowning

mouth

Drowning, death caused by suffocation due to immersion in water or any other liquid. In most cases of drowning, the heart continues to beat for several minutes after loss of consciousness. This means that mouth-to-mouth resuscitation can save the victim's life by renewing the flow of oxygen.
