Dracula

Dracula, novel (1897) by English writer Bram Stoker about a Transylvanian vampire count. Dracula became the subject of many horror films. The name, meaning “dragon,” was applied to Vlad IV the Impaler, the cruel 15th-century Walachian prince upon whom Stoker based the character.
