Doum palm

Doum palm, or doom palm, fruit-bearing tree of the palm family found in the Middle East and northern and central Africa. The tree has an oval fruit about the size of an apple. The Ancient Egyptians often put large quantities of the fruit in the tombs of their pharoahs.
