Hilda Doolittle



Doolittle, Hilda (1886–1961), U.S. poet who lived in Europe after 1911. She wrote under the pseudonym H.D. H.D. was one of the first imagists in the United States, and she continued to develop the imagist style in her poetry. Works include Sea Garden (1916), The Walls Do Not Fall (1944), and a novel Bid Me to Live (1960).
