Ignatius Donnelly



Donnelly, Ignatius (1831–1901), U.S. politician and writer. A Republican congressman for Minnesota 1863–9, he later led the Greenback Party and the Populist Party. He wrote the Populist platform and was that party's nominee for vice president in 1900. He wrote several speculative works, including the Utopian novel Caesar's Column (1891).
