Dogtooth violet



Dogtooth violet (Erythronium dens-canis), also known as adder's tongue or trout lily, wildflower of eastern North America belonging to the lily family. Unrelated to true violets, its flowers are bell-shaped and bear no resemblance to a dog's tooth.
