Dniester River



Dniester River, river in the former Soviet Union, about 875 mi (1,408 km) long. Rising in the Carpathian Mountains, in the western Ukraine, it flows southeast through the Ukraine and Moldavia, and empties into the Black Sea southwest of Odessa.
