Dinesen, Isak (Baroness Karen Blixen; 1885–1962), Danish author of romantic tales of mystery, such as Seven Gothic Tales (1934) and Winter's Tales (1942). Dinesen wrote in both English and Danish. The autobiographical Out of Africa (1937) was based on her 20 years in East Africa.
