Diathermy

Diathermy, therapeutic use of high-frequency electric current to induce heat within deep tissues of the body that cannot be reached by surface heat. Deep heat can promote rapid healing by increasing the circulation of the blood, and it alleviates the pain of rheumatic conditions, joint dislocations, and sprains and fractures.
