Denver



Denver (pop. 513,500), capital and largest city of Colorado, situated in the Rocky Mountains foothills, a mile above sea level. Its location has made it the commercial center for the Rocky Mountain region. The Denver Union stockyards include the largest sheep market in the country and one of the largest cattle markets. Other industries include aerospace, food processing, printing and publishing, electronics, textiles and metal and mineral processing. The city maintains the world's largest municipal park and recreation system.
