Demeter



Demeter, in Greek mythology, the goddess of grain, agriculture, harvest, and fertility. She is credited with teaching humans how to farm. The Greeks honored her and her daughter Persephone in the rituals of the Eleusinian Mysteries. The ancient Romans identified Demeter with Ceres.
