Delphi



Delphi, Greek town located on the lower slopes of Mt. Parnassus. In ancient times, it was the site of the most important oracle in Greece. The oracle was in a temple to Apollo built in the 6th century B.C. The messages were delivered by a priestess, usually in cryptic form, and were interpreted by a priest.
