Davis, Henry Gassaway (1823–1916), U.S. politician; U.S. senator from West Virginia 1871–83. In 1904 he was the Democratic candidate for vice president on the Alton B. Parker ticket, which lost to Theodore Roosevelt and Charles W. Fairbanks.
