Walter Emmons Alston
Alston, Walter Emmons (1911–84), baseball manager. The low-keyed man of baseball, he led the Brooklyn (later Los Angeles) Dodgers to 7 National League pennants and 4 World Series championships (1955, 1959, 1963, and 1965).
