Aladdin



Aladdin, boy hero of one of the stories of the Thousand and One Nights, a collection of folk tales from the Middle East preserved in Arabic in the 16th century. Aladdin, the son of a poor widow, comes into possession of a magic ring and lamp. As the master of the lamp and of the 2 genies, or jinns, who reside within, Aladdin amasses great wealth and becomes a sultan.
