Georgi Konstantinovich Zhukov



Zhukov, Georgi Konstantinovich (1896–1974), Soviet general, hero of the battles at Stalingrad (1943) and Berlin (1945). After the death of Stalin (who had blocked his career), Zhukov was defense minister (1955–57) and briefly a full member of the Communist Party Presidium (1957).
