Yiddish

Yiddish, language spoken by Jewish people, developed during the A.D. 900s and 1000s. Yiddish has roots in several languages, including German, Hebrew, Aramaic, French, and Italian. After World War II (1939–45), in which the Nazis exterminated over 6 million Jews, the use of Yiddish declined considerably.
