Yak

Yak (Bos grunniens), shaggy ox of the high plateau of Tibet. Yaks are distinguished by the long fringe of hair on shoulders, flanks, thighs, and tail, and the long in-curved horns. Wild yaks are large animals, up to 7 ft (2.1 m) at the shoulder, with black coats. Domestic yaks, kept as beasts of burden and for their milk, are smaller and may be any of several colors.
