World Trade Center



World Trade Center, twin towers (each 110 stories) rising 1,350 ft (411 m) over lower Manhattan in New York City. Completed in 1973, they were the tallest buildings in the world until 1974, when they were surpassed by the Sears Tower in Chicago. The center was designed by Minoru Yamasaki and Emery Roth and cost $750 million to build.
