Wood duck



Wood duck, bird belonging to the Anatidae family and found in the wet woodlands of southern Canada and the United States. It searches for seeds and insects in the shallow waters of swamps and ponds. It is about 20 in (51 cm) in length. The male of the species has bright multicolored feathers, while the female has feathers of yellowish brown.
