Women's Bureau



Women's Bureau, agency of the U.S. Department of Labor established in 1920 to deal with working conditions, needs, and opportunities of wage-earning women. The bureau acts as an information resource, advisory body, and advocacy group, helping employees, employers, institutions, government bodies, and international organizations with such issues as job training, placement and advancement, childcare, and sex discrimination.
