National Woman's Relief Corps



Woman's Relief Corps, National, U.S. patriotic organization. It became the women's auxiliary of the Grand Army of the Republic (Union veterans of the Civil War) in 1883. Its purposes include memorializing the war dead, assistance to veterans, and child welfare.
