Roy Wilkins



Wilkins, Roy (1901–81), U.S. civil rights leader and executive secretary of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) from 1955 to 1970. Opposed to white supremacy and black separatism, he did much to bring about school desegregation and the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
