Whiplash

Whiplash, cervical sprain, or neck injury. As a result of the head accidently thrown backward then forward, the muscles and ligaments in the head, neck, and shoulder area may become strained. This strain causes pain and stiffness that may be treated with a neck brace, heat, massage, or pain medicine. It happens most often through automobile accidents, although automobile headrests and shoulder harnesses help prevent or lessen the severity of this injury.
