Edward Weston



Weston, Edward (1886–1958), U.S. photographer, winner of the Guggenheim Fellowship (1937). Originally a producer of hazy, unclear pictures, popular in the late 1800s, Weston switched in the 1920s to crisp, focused photographs of simple subjects, a stlye known as straight photography. His pictures emphasized the form and texture of objects and centered predominantly on nature scenes.
