Webster-Ashburton Treaty



Webster-Ashburton Treaty, 1842 agreement between the United States and Great Britain. It settled boundary disputes between Canada and the United States, established a cooperative effort toward ending the slave trade, and provided for the extradition of criminals. The treaty was signed by Secretary of State Daniel Webster and Lord Ashburton.
