Weaverbird

Weaverbird, small, seed-eating bird (family Ploceidae) of Africa and Asia. Weaverbirds are related to the English sparrow and are usually drab, though during the nesting season many males develop bright plumage. They are named for their elaborate flask-shaped nests, woven from strips of palm fronds or grasses. Weavers live in flocks and are often pests when they descend on crops.
