Waterfall

Waterfall, vertical fall of water formed where a river flows from hard rock to an area of more easily eroded rock, or where there has been a rise of the land relative to sea level or a blockage of the river by a landslide. The power of waterfalls often provides energy for the many cities that have sprung up around them. The highest waterfall in the world is Angel Falls, Venezuela (3,212 ft/979 m).
