Wahoo



Wahoo, swift-swimming sport and food fish (Acanthocybium solandri), of the mackerel family. The wahoo is found worldwide in warm waters, particularly tropical areas of the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian oceans. The wahoo has a slender, elongated body with a pointed nose, long backfin, and crescent-shaped tail. Its back is dark gray-blue, with silvery, irregularly striped sides. Wahoos may grow to 8 ft (2.4 m) in length and attain a weight of about 180 lb (82k).
