Wabash River



Wabash River, river running through Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois. Rising in Grand Lake, in western Ohio, the Wabash flows west and southwest across Indiana for about 475 mi (764 km) before emptying into the Ohio River in southwestern Indiana. The river forms a major segment of the border between Indiana and Illinois. The Wabash was used as a transportation route by Native Americans as early as the 12th century.
