Vinegar eel



Vinegar eel (Turbatrix aceti), tiny roundworm, about 1/16 in (1.6 mm) in length, found in fermenting cider vinegar. Vinegar eels feed on fruit pulp and the bacteria that produce the vinegar from the cider. They are harmless if swallowed.
