Vertigo

Vertigo, disturbance in which the individual has a subjective impression of movement in space or of objects moving around him or her, usually with a loss of equilibrium. As distinguished from faintness, lightheadedness, or other forms of dizziness, vertigo results from a disturbance somewhere in the body's equilibratory apparatus, e.g., the inner ear.
