Utica



Utica (pop. 75,632), industrial city of central New York State and the seat of Oneida County. Lying in the Mohawk River Valley, Utica is an important terminal on the New York State Barge Canal System. Its factories turn out electrical tools and machinery, textiles, metal products, foodstuffs, paper products, and clothing. The city is also an important market for the surrounding farm region.
