United Church of Canada



United Church of Canada, Protestant church formed in 1925 by the union of Methodist and most Presbyterian and Congregationalist churches. Ecumenical, national, and missionary, it has a Presbyterian form of organization, stresses the rights of congregations, and has male and female ministers. It was joined in 1966 by Canada's Evangelical United Brethren Church, and has over a million adult members.
