Tyrol



Tyrol, or Tirol, state in western Austria. Over half its original area was ceded to Italy in 1919. Austria's highest peak, Grossglockner(12,461 ft/3,798 km), is located there. Farming, lumber, and tourism are its main sources of income. The capital is Innsbruck.
