Tropical rain forest

Tropical rain forest, regions of the world near the equator characterized by high levels of rainfall and humidity. Vast numbers of unique animal and bird species inhabit these regions. Vegetation includes many trees that have significant commercial value. This has resulted in extensive deforestation, especially in the Amazon rain forest region of South America. This practice endangers many plant and animal species and poses a threat to the world's climate system. The temperature in a rain forest ranges from 68°F (20°C) to 93°F(34°C).
