Anthony Trollope



Trollope, Anthony (1815–82), English author. His series of 6 books, known as “the Barsetshire novels,” (1855–67) are satires that portray the lives of ordinary people in a fictional county (Barsetshire): The Warden, Barchester Towers, Doctor Thorne, Framley Parsonage, The Small House at Allington, and The Last Chronicle of Barset. In all he wrote more than 50 books, including The Bertrans (1859), The Eustace Diamonds (1873), The Way We Live Now (1875), and Cousin Henry (1879).
