Tragopan

Tragopan, any of 5 species of birds in the pheasant family. These inhabitants of central and southern Asia mainly live on forested mountains. During courtship the colorful feathered folds of throat skin (the lappet) and blue fleshy horns on the sides of the head of the males enlarge for a brilliant display. Unlike many other kinds of pheasants, tragopans nest in trees rather than on the ground.
