Toucan



Toucan, exotic bird of the family Ramphastidae, native to the tropical regions of Latin America. It is noted for its huge, brightly colored bill. About forty varieties exist, ranging in size from 13–25 in (33–64 cm). It subsists on fruits, often using its saw-edged bill to tear off small pieces. It lives in small flocks and is believed to be highly social.
