Titans

Titans, in Greek mythology, offspring of Uranus and Gaea, including Cronus, Hyperion, Iapetus, Oceanus, Coeus, Creus, Theia, Rhea, Mnemosyne, Phoebe, Tethys, and Themis, as well as their descendants (e.g., Atlas, Prometheus). Cronus and his siblings overthrew Uranus. In turn one of Cronus's offspring, Zeus, led the Olympians to defeat Cronus and become rulers of the universe, banishing the Titans, except for Cronus (who ruled the Isle of the Blessed) and Atlas (who held up the sky), to Tartarus. Prometheus, who aided Zeus, was also allowed to remain.
