Thor

Thor, in Norse mythology, god of thunder. Son of Odin, the king of the deities, Thor is depicted as a powerful warrior with a huge appetite. The fiercest adversary of the giants, Thor's strength is symbolized by his weapon, a magical hammer called Mjollnir, which unerringly hits its target and flies back to Thor. According to Norse myth, the world will be destroyed in a great war between the giants and the gods, which will also kill Thor. Thursday is named after Thor (Thor's day).
