Isaiah Thomas



Thomas, Isaiah (1749–1831), U.S. printer and publisher. He printed books and magazines, and published the Massachusetts Spy (1770–1802), a colonial newspaper criticizing British policy before and throughout the Revolutionary War. He printed the first Bible and dictionary in the United States. His The History of Printing in America (1810) remains an informative work.
