Dylan Thomas



Thomas, Dylan (1914–53), Welsh poet who first achieved recognition with Eighteen Poems (1934). His prose includes the quasi-autobiographical Portrait of the Artist as a Young Dog (1940) and Adventures in the Skin Trade (1955); his poetry includes Deaths and Entrances (1946) and Collected Poems (1952). His drama Under Milk Wood (posthumously published, 1954) was originally a radio play.
