Art Tatum



Tatum, Art (1910–56), U.S. jazz pianist. With the physical handicap of only slight vision, he became a master of piano technique and various forms of jazz. As an accompanist to jazz singers and as a member of his own jazz trio, he performed mainly in New York City nightclubs, beginning in 1932.
